Number Plates of the world
In the UK we are used to number plates which are white at the front an yellow at the rear ( although no one seems to know why the difference in colour). Other countries have their own ideas with the most popular being white both front an rear. Eire for example has red backgrounds front and rear while Netherlands are yellow. The USA is the most unusual in that many states don’t require a front plate at all. It is expected that members of the European Community will at some point adopt a common policy on plate colours if not a common registration number system.
